Blue is the Colour for Beaufort's Hyder Project

Blue aluminium doors and windows from Beaufort Secure Design have provided a strong and stylish solution for the offices of Hyder Business Services, a market leader in business process outsourcing.

Hampshire-based GPM Meridian Windows Ltd fabricated and installed the new doors and windows as part of the refurbishment of Mill House, Hyder’s seven-storey premises in Lincoln. The large size of some of the windows made aluminium, with its inherent strength and stability, a clear choice for the project.

Fenestration design was dictated by the style of existing windows and classic casement windows from Beaufort’s 70mm range provided a good match.

The specification of RAL 5001 (Green Blue) for the new doors and windows by the architects, Office Design Partnership, also posed no problem for Beaufort. In addition to the standard white polyester powder paint finish, the company’s range is available in over 500 special colours (subject to quantity and delivery). As a further benefit, the high gloss finish is resistant to the pollution and grime that can discolour many other types of windows and requires only minimal maintenance.

GPM fabricated a total of 307 windows for Mill House using Beaufort’s popular 70mm deep direct fix frames with a slim transom, together with 17 commercial doors. The windows have150mm cills and also feature a high security external glazed Euro Vent incorporating a Trojan shootbolt lock that is ‘Secured by Design’ licensed. An attractive combination of clear and arctic blue toughened glass has been used throughout the building to complement the coloured windows and doors.

Established for over 20 years, GPM Meridian Windows Ltd, part of the GPM Group Ltd, has built a nationwide customer base with a comprehensive product package. The company started fabricating the Beaufort aluminium range in 1997 and has since been appointed one of Beaufort’s ‘Approved Fabricators’. ‘We handle a lot of commercial contracts and find that aluminium is the preferred choice wherever extremely strong sections are required’, comments John Palmer, Group Managing Director or GPM. ‘Also, its strength provides excellent levels of security and durability.’ he adds.
