Stopray goes Neutral in Tooley St

A new office building in Tooley Street, London reflects the current trend for neutral high performance solar control glazing. Glaverbel's Stopray Safir (neutral with a slight blue tint) was chosen for its solar control, insulation and light transmission properties. 12,000 sq.metres were glazed into this distinctive curtain wall.

Stopray Safir is one of the extensive (and growing!) family of Stopray glasses. Stopray is a range of glass with one surface coated with a very thin layer of precious metal resulting in good solar and thermal performance. The company says that over 30 years of research and development has given Glaverbel technological leadership in solar control. Stopray Safir, for example, prevents 68% of solar energy entering the building. This has a direct bearing on comfort-levels inside the building and air-con costs. At the same time, light transmission is 61%, optimising daylight into the offices and reducing lighting costs. There is yet another advantage. Stopray is a low-emissivity glass i.e. it reflects heat back inside the building - giving a thermal insulation coefficient as low as U=1.1W/(m2.K).
