Groupco
takes up Residence at Exeter University
Groupco
has supplied a complete package of hardware at new student accommodation
for Exeter University, where Devon-based Aspect Windows (Western) Ltd
has manufactured and installed fully reversible windows and French doors
for the modern residential block, which forms part of a major programme
to increase the capacity of the Universitys halls of residence.
Top
swing reversible windows were selected for the new build project for
their ease of cleaning from the interior of the building in accordance
with BS 8213. This design also ensures full compliance with emergency
escape regulations. Over 200 window units have been supplied by Aspect,
complete with PN UNI System hardware from Groupco. Featuring a universal
groove fixing, this system provides a flexible solution for all applications
and window designs, including reversible. The high performance gearing
ensures smooth operation and durability together with safe restricted
positions for ventilation. Aspect has combined the PN UNI System with
a Maco MK1 shootbolt from Groupco for optimum security.
Aspect has also fabricated and installed 580 French doors for the new
accommodation, all featuring Fuhr locking mechanisms and Hoppe handles
from Groupcos extensive range. According to Steve Cooling, Operations
Manager of Aspect, high security was a key requirement of the contract.
To meet the demanding specification all doors have been fitted with
top of the range Fuhr French Door Bolts. The selected model incorporates
a deadbolt, 2 hooks and 2 roller cams plus top and bottom shootbolt
on the master door.
Established in 1981, Aspect Windows and Conservatories is a family owned
fabricator and installer with ISO 9001:2000 status. The company has
recently moved to larger premises in Exeter as a direct result of increased
business growth. Aspect has been sourcing window and door fittings from
Groupco for the past 10 years, The company offers a reliable service
and a comprehensive range that covers most industry requirements,
says Steve.
Groupco was appointed UK distributor for the PN UNI System Universal
Hardware for Windows by Peder Nielsen of Denmark almost two years ago.
Steve continues, When we first started manufacturing fully reversible
windows Groupco was very supportive and arranged full training with
Peder Nielsen. This window design is proving a very successful addition
and were currently planning a major promotion of the range incorporating
PN UNI hardware.
