Sheerframe Rises to the Top

Bay windows from UK systems company L.B. Plastics have made Swindon's first penthouse apartments the cream of the crop. The penthouse apartments are part of an £8 million apartment complex built by Bristol based Crosby Homes, which comprises of 76 apartments with ground floor commercial use. In addition to the feature bay windows, Wiltshire-based Fleetwood PVCu Windows Ltd. installed 500 Sheerframe System 7000 Tilt & Turn windows and System 7000 residential doors.

The L.B. PLastics drawing office played a major role in the design of the window layout, ensuring that every single window fitted perfectly in often complicated circumstances such as arched facades and stepped corners with unusual angles.
Thirty-five drawings were produced taking over 300 man-hours to complete. Each drawing went out with its own dedicated reveal detail and associated window frame cross sections, allowing Crosby Homes to see exactly what they would be getting from system supplier and installer.

Andy Crosse of L.B. Plastics' drawing office commented, 'A lot of hard work went into getting this job right. We had a tight schedule to keep and from the start formed a close working relationship with Fleetwood Windows, guaranteeing the best possible result for Crosby Homes.'

Hardial Sangha of Fleetwood Windows commented, 'We exclusively use Sheerframe windows and recommended the System 7000 Tilt and Turn windows as they offer ease of opening and cleaning as well as good ventilation when in the tilt position.'

System 7000 Tilt & Turn Sheerframe windows are manufactured to customers'
specification and are available in a range of sashes, system styles and bead finishes to provide optimum appearance, weather performance and ease of operation. The residential doors are available in white or woodgrain with either outward or inward opening and comply with door performance standard PAS 023 and security standard PAS 024.
