Conservatory Project of Paramount lmportance to Winstanley College

Veka fabricator and installer Paramount Window Systems Ltd has worked against the clock to complete a striking 16m long conservatory for Winstanley College near Wigan, Lancashire. Paramount worked closely together with Veka and conservatory roof manufacturer Ultraframe to complete the sizeable project within just six weeks, delighting college officials.

Manchester-based Paramount Window Systems - a Veka fabricator since the
company's inception in 1994 - has a reputation locally for going the extra mile to satisfy customer demand, and the company did just that when it was approached, by Winstanley College earlier this year. Due to the steady increase in admissions to the College over the past few years, a new cafeteria was needed to cater for additional students starting this academic year. Estate management personnel decided that a conservatory would be both a practical and attractive solution.

However, there was a significant time constraint: To avoid disruption for students, the work had to be completed during the six week summer break. Winstanley College approached Paramount and were impressed with the company's positive attitude and with the quality of the Veka products, which Paramount MD Eddie McGrath refers to as 'world beating for quality, technical specification and sheer good looks'. Work began in late July and was completed on schedule at the end of August.

An L-shaped construction measuring 16 metres on its longest side, the conservatory - manufactured using Veka's Matrix 58 profile system - has been installed on the side of the main college building near the sports hall. Although the project has been an unusual one for a further education establishment, Paramount is confident that the success of the installation will lead to similar contracts in the future.
