Meanwhile, the news (embargoed until today) that the original owner of Interbuild - Montgomery - has sold its remaining 50% share of the show to EMAP is of interest to exhibitors at Glassex, who may find the window and door show being part of Interbuild in 2006. A lively debate will no doubt follow...

January 9th, 2004 saw one of the world's largest solar power plants in Neustadt, Germany join the grid. A total of 2 megawatts of environmentally friendly electricity will be generated over an area of some 70,000 m2 (7 hectares) – corresponding to the size of seven soccer fields. This is enough to continuously power 700 households.

So what do we think so far of Interbuild 2004, the 50th event in its long and distinguished history? Well, the title may give a clue, and the fact that some parts of the show are better than others should surprise no-one. The hot spots in the show without doubt included the window and door section; the bathroom sector is another. We await with interest the reception to the Civils show which opens its doors tomorrow.
