Take Care Out There!
Christmas is upon us and hopefully all of you are about ready to make the most of the nice long break: we shall be next appearing on your screens on Tuesday January 11th. The safety issue is at the forefront this week: we have a warning from the HSE that the Glazing Industry is even more dangerous than the Construction Industry, hence the title of this week's leader: in this week of excess it's all too easy to make a mistake at work which could ruin Christmas for the whole family. On the plus side of the glass safety debate we report on the winner of a Solutia Design Award, the Glass Bridge by Wilkinson Eyre at the Royal Ballet School.

One of our most popular - if more erratic - sections of The Gl@zine is our round up of Notices from the Insolvency Courts. It gives us little pleasure to publish this list of company failures, but its popularity suggests that readers find it useful. This week, I am pleased to report that we have heard from Ian Hecken, the managing director of Gosport Window Systems Ltd, who appeared in the Notices section because of the unwelcome attention of the Customs and Excise Dept.

Deceuninck Advert

Tony HigginThe good news is that Ian's company has stumped up the cash and got them off his back, so we are glad to take his Notice off our page and wish him and his staff a Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year. In fact, we would like to take this opportunity of wishing all our readers the same, and to invite you to read our online Christmas card which is here.

One last thing: I don't want to knock the ASA as such, but I do think it says something that it published this week an adjudication against Coldseal, which went bust over a month ago! We publish it below, just for the record!
