UK fire glass firm CGII, for example, secured leads from over 40 countries; Tamglass picked up orders for its toughening plants from around the world to the the value of 15 million euros. Other kinds of business get carried out under the auspices of this magnificent exhibition, and we report from a number of trade associations which reached landmark decisions at meetings around the show.

The members of eurowindoor for example, have issued a report which suggests that the European window market will be back in profit by 2003; at the same time they announced that German window producers have agreed to discontinue the use of SF6 gas in sealed units. Finally, they are all off for a beano in Barcelona to celebrate conformity with the CE Mark. Vive la Différence, as we say.

Kyro's Safety Glass business secures contracts worth in excess of 15m Euros at Glasstec

Tamglass Ltd. Oy and Uniglass Engineering Oy of the Safety Glass Technology business area within the Kyro Group have contracted machinery deliveries worth approximately EUR 15 million in total. The contracts were agreed during Glasstec 2002, which is the most significant biannual trade fair for the glass industry.
