'No Further Changes to prEN 14351-1' Say Experts
The Product Standard prEN 14351-1:2005 covering windows and pedestrian doorsets without fire resistance is unlikely to undergo any further changes in technical content before it is published early in 2006. This was the view expressed by a panel of experts at the 'European Openings' doors and windows conference for manufacturers, specifiers and regulators, organised by Chiltern Dynamics and BM TRADA Certification in London on 17th October.

Vitrum 2005: Visitors up 23% on 2003
The 14th edition of Vitrum, the Milan glass show held earlier this month, recorded a healthy increase in the number of visitors, up nearly 23% over the previous event, although the 2003 show was lower than average due to being moved to June that year . Overall, during the four days of the exhibition, 16,018 glass professionals visited the show, still below its 1997 peak of 16,702.

Burnden and K2 Win Multi-Million Pound Costs from Ultraframe
A High Court Judge has brought to an end six years of litigation between two of the UK’s leading conservatory manufacturers. Awarding costs following a six month trial, Mr Justice Lewison ruled that Clitheroe-based Ultraframe Plc should pay the bulk of the costs incurred by the defendants The Burnden Group and K2 Conservatory Roof Systems Ltd. Ultraframe was instructed to pay £2 million as an interim payment with the full costs likely to increase to approximately £5 million.
