New Operations Director for Glazpart

Ken Hanley, Managing Director of Glazpart Group has recently announced the appointment of Mark O'Mahoney to the board of Glazpart Ltd., as Operations Director.

Mark has been with the company since 1986 and is currently the groups Manufacturing Manager.

With a background in plastics and engineering Mark will have full responsibility for the day to day operations of the company whilst continuing to oversee the expansion of the groups design and manufacturing facilities.

The Banbury based group employs 150 staff and turns over in excess of £9.0m in tooling and moulding sales. The group also has Distribution outlets in the Netherlands and the USA.

Windowlink Strengthens Sales Team

Windowlink has expanded its UK sales team with the appointment of Domenico Rosato. As one of the company’s dedicated Sales Executives he will be responsible for maximising sales of Windowlink’s market-leading suite of sales presentation and manufacturing software among fabricators and installers nationwide.

Domenico joins Windowlink with extensive experience in business development. His previous employment includes Area Sales Manger for one of Europe’s leading computer memory manufacturers, where he was involved in developing effective sales and marketing strategies for clients across Scandinavia. In his new role, Domenico will be looking to apply these skills to further increase Windowlink’s market share.

New Sales Director at Evergreen

Evergreen Door, the composite door component supplier, has appointed Andy Grogan as Director of Sales.

Andy joined from another door company where he worked for 18 years managing the transport, warehouse and more recently, the customer service functions.
At Evergreen, his responsibilities include sales as well as developing and building the customer base. Andy’s hobbies include playing football with a local team.

Evergreen Door has achieved PAS 23 and PAS 24 accreditations on all its steel and fibreglass entrance door systems, plus a 30-minute fire rating on its manufactured steel-faced door, following extensive testing by independent experts.

New South East Area Manager for Sierra

Sierra Windows has appointed Ian Davis as South East Area Manager. Based at Braintree in Essex, he has 16 years of industry experience.

Ian brings a thorough understanding of all aspects of the window industry, from production and installation to products and sales.

Of his new role, Ian says, 'I want to put all my skills to good use, I have a very competitive nature, and am keen to keep the sales activity high and even more profitable!'

With a daughter of six years old, Ian’s hobbies include, not surprisingly, watching and playing competitive sports, including badminton, tennis and football.

Sentinel Strengthens its Installation Team

Prompted by the growing number and size of its contracts with local authorities, housing associations and RSLs, Llantrisant-based composite door manufacturer Sentinel Doors has made fundamental changes to the structure of its installation business to strengthen both operational and administrative management.


The operational team is strengthened with the appointment of contract supervisors Darren Ansell, Mark Watson and James Emson, to work with national contracts manager Steve Simpson. Sharon Batt moves from the sales office to take control of administration management with the help of a team of six - Carol Cryer, Faye Nash, Alex Magor, Rachael Williams, Mo Steadman and Nikki Colvill.

Commenting for Sentinel, sales and marketing director Phil Mundell says: 'Our contracts team now employs over 47 people including 36 fitters, and is probably the most experienced in the UK. Stronger management will maintain the confidence of the growing number of customers who require supply and installation contracts.'

Synseal Welcome New Director of Sales

Kevin Harvey is joining Synseal as National Sales Director following a successful 4 years as Sales Director with Avocet, and 4 years prior to that with Yale.

Kevin will be working closely with Sales and Marketing Director Nick Dutton. He will help Synseal get ahead of the demand from existing and new customers.

“Having been involved in the industry previously of course I'd already heard of Synseal,” says Kevin. “But I am still staggered by the growth they have experienced. I am delighted to be given the chance to work for such a dynamic company with such a refreshing ethos.”


Smith and Jones – new members for the Profile 22 posse!

Profile 22
has appointed two new Business Development Managers – aptly named Smith and Jones – who hope to take not the Wild West but the Midlands and South East by storm!

Charles Smith (below left) has 16 years experience in the hardware and profile industry. Newly married Charles has recently moved to Stamford in Lincolnshire.

Of his role as BDM for the South East, he says, “This is a new area to me, and I’m looking forward to meeting existing and new customers, using my industry knowledge to develop the business in this region.”

In his spare time, Charles sails on Rutland Water and is a keen spectator of Superbike racing. He also admits to being a dab hand in the kitchen!

 



Chris Jones comes from a manufacturing background and brings 18 years of industry experience to his role as BDM for the Midlands.

He says, “I aim to build on relationships with existing customers and help them to develop their business by introducing new products and ideas. I want to bring a fresh approach to the job with a production based outlook.”

Chris, married with two children, is an FA football coach in his spare time for two clubs – Croft Junior Football Club, where he coaches up to 18 year olds, and Wooton Bassett Football Club, a semi-professional adult club in the Hellanic League.

Fraser Watt reaches the Pinnacle

Fraser Watt has recently been promoted to Pinnacle Sales Development Manager and will be responsible for the development and further increase in sales of the highly successful Eurocell Pinnacle Conservatory Roofing System.

Eurocell Building Plastics, as an Area Sales Representative, covering the Eastern Region, previously employed Fraser. “This is a excellent move for me, we have a first class product which was launched last year I feel that the product has superior benefits to be a force within the Conservatory market.”

Fraser will be initially working with the Eurocell Building Plastics Trade Centres from Peterborough, heading north into Scotland as far as the newly opened Aberdeen depot. The aim being to provide a point of contact for the branch managers and ultimately to improve trade centre conservatory roof sales.

New General Manager for Central Glass

Central Glass has recently promoted Graham Ward to the newly created role of General Manager, helping to strengthen the company's position as a provider of windows, doors and conservatories.

Having worked in the industry for a number of years and with Central Glass for four years as Sales Manager, Graham has a wealth experience and considerable knowledge of the windows market and is enthusiastic about his new role. "As General Manager I will be responsible for the day to day running of the company, ensuring that it is run effectively and efficiently. This also includes building on our already strong relationship with suppliers such as HW Plastics so that we can continue to provide our customers with a full range of products."

Central Glass has built up a strong client base in both commercial and domestic sectors over the years. Today the company employs 40 staff and produces around 250 window frames a week in addition to an impressive range of conservatories.

"This is a very exciting time for us," concludes Graham. "We have recently invested in new machinery, opened a new showroom and have started to fabricate the new Elite 70 suite which our customers really like. A Colourful Future for Kieran

Kieran O'Connor is the new general Manager of Kolorplas' Manufacturing Division, overseeing fabrication of the complete range of WHS Halo PVCu systems together with specialist services, including profile bending and colour coating. Kieran has been with Kolorplas since the introduction of the Coatings Division back in 1992, and so brings extensive experience of the company's state-of-the art facilities to his new role.

As General Manager Kieran will ensure the smooth running of Kolorplas' Oxon based operation, from point of order right through to despatch. His future :objectives as the company moves forward include increasing output levels by additional investment in on-site training and personnel development programmes. He will also manage the implementation of new production machinery as part of an ongoing strategy to keep pace with demand.

Commenting on his new management role Kieran said, 'We seem to be bucking the trend and attracting new enquiries as well as increased business from existing customers. GBW is underlining its push for continued sales growth with the appointment of Graham Poole as Key Account Manager. Steve Musgrave joins Synseal Extrusions Ltd as Manufacturing Director Designate. Radway Gears for Growth as Park-Davies Joins the Team

Sheerframe windowmaker Radway Door and Windows Limited has appointed John Park-Davies as sales and marketing director.

John's appointment is part of a programme to further strengthen the Redditch-based company's senior team which has also seen the appointment of four contracts managers in recent months.

John has 18 years experience in the construction industry and has spent the past decade working for major national companies within the fenestration sector.

His appointment reflects Radway's strong national focus on the specification sector. The LHC-approved company has recently won a number of major social housing contracts in the South East and the Midlands, as a result of its partnering approach.

New UKAS CEO Ready for Action

Paul Stennett, formerly with global food ingredients company the Braes Group Ltd, has been appointed chief executive officer of the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).

Welcoming the appointment, Lord Lindsay, chairman of UKAS, commented: 'Paul has established a strong track record in the food industry with Quaker Oats Europe, Mars Inc and Dalgety Spillers. He has also proved his mettle in the building materials sector having been CEO of Lafarge Research Ltd, a subsidiary of the Lafarge SA group.

'Paul combines an impressive technical background with the ability to provide
executive leadership at both a national and international level. He has also had considerable experience in delivering customer-focused services in business, consumer and science-based environments.
